Ellen Bjerborn
Ellen Bjerborn (b. 1995, Malmö, Sweden) is a visual artist whose practice explores the dissolution between nature, spirituality, and technology through video and text. Her work is characterized by an interweaving of image and language, forming a distinctive kind of video poetry.
Bjerborn’s early works reflect upon humanity’s relationship with the digital realm, considering the internet as an alternative space for living. Since 2023, her practice has shifted toward a deeper engagement with nature and the transformations it is undergoing. This thematic transition is anchored in Mytilus, an ongoing, hyper-local project centered around Ribersborg beach in Malmö.
In 2024, Bjerborn completed a residency at the biological station in Kilpisjärvi, Finland—an experience that forms the basis of an upcoming film exploring the evolving nature of field studies. She holds a BFA from Parsons School of Design and has exhibited in both the United States and Sweden, including at Mana Contemporary, Jersey City and Plexus Projects, Brooklyn.
